Introducing: Clown Contouring

Just when we thought we’d see the end of contouring with the explosion of strobing, we’ve seen a new contour trend that’s more than skin deep. YouTube beauty vlogger BellaDeLune, or Esther Isabel Amado Romo, started a new beauty trend and took a stand in her makeup tutorial:

The technique uses exaggerated cream contouring, highlighting, and blush application to imitate the costume of circus performers. Then after blending out all of the products, the result is a smooth, contoured makeup look. “Personally, I can not tell you many times I have been called a clown, and many other names, and been hated on because of the the way I use this art form," says De Lune. Taking back the power of makeup, the hashtag #ClownContouring went viral on Instagram. Makeup and beauty enthusiasts everywhere began sharing their own clown contouring photos: Clown C 2 Clown C 3 "Even though you don't need this amount of makeup or any makeup at all to feel or look beautiful, let's face it: makeup is fun, and it's a way of expressing yourself!”
